Enbiosis “The World’s First Digital Twin & AI Powered Nutraceutical Formulation Engine”
Vitafoods Europe 2026: What the Industry Is Telling Us
Vitafoods Europe returned to Barcelona this year, and the shift in conversation was hard to miss. The questions on the floor were different. Not just “which ingredient works?” but “how was this formulation designed, and what is the evidence behind it?” That is a meaningful change. The Gut Microbiome Moved to the Centre Gut health was not a side conversation at Vitafoods 2026. It was central to nearly everything happening on the floor. From GLP-1 companion nutrition to women’s wellness and targeted gut modulation, the microbiome was framing discussions across categories. Gut dysbiosis was being discussed not as a digestive issue but as a hallmark of aging with systemic consequences. That shift in framing says something important about where the category is heading: the gut microbiome is no longer a niche topic. It is a foundational platform for health across life stages.   Longevity, Women’s Health and Metabolic Wellness Three themes dominated the show floor. Longevity: Younger, health-conscious individuals are seeking science-backed solutions that integrate into daily routines. Companies are responding with new delivery formats designed to make supplementation feel less like a chore and more like a lifestyle choice. Women’s health: Menopause emerged as a category in its own right, with companies developing targeted concepts addressing the full journey, from hot flashes and sleep to skin and energy. Personalisation across life stages was a theme that kept coming up. Metabolic health: Blood glucose management, weight, and broader metabolic markers are increasingly being addressed through nutritional science, with ingredient suppliers presenting solutions that go well beyond single-marker interventions. Formulation Design Is Changing Across all these categories, one shift was consistent. Brands and ingredient suppliers are rethinking how formulations are built. The conversation has moved from ingredient selection to formulation rationale, and companies are increasingly expected to explain not just what is in a product but why those ingredients were chosen and what biological outcome they are designed to support. This is where conversations around digital twin technology and computational formulation design resonated on the floor. The idea of mapping metabolic pathways before clinical studies begin, and engineering formulations around specific biological targets, opened real conversations about how product development could work differently.
At Enbiosis, we have been building for this shift. Our Digital Twin and AI-powered platform maps microbiome-linked metabolic disruptions, identifies specific biological targets, and engineers precise food-grade formulations in silico before a single clinical study begins. The conversations at Vitafoods confirmed that the industry is moving in the same direction.
What Barcelona Confirmed

The nutraceutical industry is maturing. Consumer expectations are rising. And what evidence-based nutrition actually means is being redefined. Vitafoods 2026 made one thing clear: the gap between ingredient science and clinical outcome is no longer something the industry can afford to leave unaddressed. The brands that will lead the next phase of this market are not the ones with the longest ingredient lists. They are the ones that can explain the biology behind their formulations and back it up with clinical evidence. The direction is set. The question now is how quickly the industry moves to meet it.
